Bumi turns two years old this week. Two years of terrorizing the world, eating everything in sight, and staying cute. Two years in human years is 14 in dog years! You know what that means? Bumi is about to go through his angsty teenage phase... Only one more year and he'll be a young adult and hopefully not a monster. For his birthday, he had a play date with pals and got some new toys!

Our neighbors recently adopted a new Australian Shepherd puppy named Blue! He's only 12 weeks old, but he's already giving Bumi a run for his money... it's wonderful! Australian Shepherds naturally herd people and animals so the whole party Blue was just nippin' at Bumi's feet and making him run around. Bumi's other friend Comet was at the party, but he's much older and enjoyed watching the two young pups run around and play together while he layed in the sun.
Most importantly, you could tell Bumi was having the time of his life! I can't wait to watch the these two pups grow up together. I imagine their conversation when they met went something like this:
Blue: Hey you're a big dog!! Bumi: Hey you're a small dog!!
Blue and Bumi: We're both dogs?? Let's play together!
Bumi: Okie dokie dude! Did we just become best friends??
This is the start of a beautiful friendship...
TOYS TOYS TOYS
For Bumi's birthday, he got a couple Kong toys (these will last a long time), a pack of tennis balls (these won't last long), and some treats (these are already gone)! Bumi wrote a post about toys, treats, safety that you can read here and hopefully keep your dog healthy too!
I just got a pair of drums and I'm pretty sure Bumi thought those were for him too. Wait a second... he just turned 14 dog years old... I think this truly is the start of his teen angst phase! Give it a couple months and he'll be in a pop punk talking about he wants to get out of this town and misses his ex-girlfriend. What can I say though? If he picks up drumming maybe he'll have a release for his energy. But it will be pretty loud in the house....
